A dress. I feel like I am constantly repeating how I am influenced by singular pieces like a dress or statement jewelry that do not need much work to shine. That is the main reason for my gravitational pull towards Diane von Furstenberg pieces; her cuts, colors, and patterns can stand on their own. I love making my pieces the fore-runner so that my small and meaningful accessories don't over power my outfit.

Jumper

One-piece; I decided this spring that I would invest in a flow-y, one piece ensemble. One that didn't need much accessories and fit in my closet perfectly (aka me back to my minimal ways). If you follow me on twitter you already know that I recently played dress up trying on pieces for fun and not really looking to buy. But, after I got home I decided that this runway piece had to be in my closet.

The sun finally stayed out long enough to enjoy the outdoors and the weather in my newest maxi dress. My spring clothes have been packed away for so long that it feels good to occasionally pull them out of my closet to wear them.

Fashionably Late

 Another glimpse at my outfit for DVF's fashionably late show at The Liberty Hotel {also in my last post}. I had way too many taken of my outfit to not make a blog post. My dress really is my favorite piece from Diane's spring 2011 collection and had to be taken out for the show. I just love how the dress becomes an accessory and not much else is needed. I wore my hair up (something I rarely do) in a tight ballerina bun to let the dress, its detail, and colors shine. I couldn't have been happier with the outcome of drinks, friends, and fashion.

It's Vintage

 Even though the sun was out yesterday the cold still was present. I was completely tired of dressing for the cold and stupidly opted to not wear tights. A pair of bare legs looks better over tights any day.Thank god I was only walking one and a half blocks from the car to the coffee shop. I was excited to wear my Diane von Furstenberg dress from the Diane Collection which launched in Boston yesterday. The line is made of new pieces with Diane's signature vintage prints from 1974. The line screams prints and color which is everything Diane stands for and something I need to see more of in my closet.

Dripping In Black

The snow is what I blame for my completely black head to toe outfits. To add a touch of color I wore my favorite green shoes. When I got these shoes I didn't expect to wear them as much as I do. But, I'm glad for the use I am getting out of them. I advise you that the colors have nothing to do with my feelings or even soul, I promise!

Black & White Stripes

When I first saw this dress all I could think of was the Hamburglar (from the old Ronald McDonald commercials). My boyfriend didn't even know who he was! The more I wore it the more I grew a liking to it. The dress pinches and hugs in all the right places and is so comfortable (my main goal in an outfit is to be comfortable if you couldn't already tell). The dress is also a perfect complement to my forest green hiking boots which I love but feel as though I don't have enough pieces to wear them with.

Fierce

I absolutely hate that the days feel shorter and how it gets darker earlier. As soon as I was ready to step out for my usual photos the sky was beginning to turn to night (and it was only 4:00 pm!). I have been living in my faux fur vest {thank you Beso} and for some reason I keep pairing it with leopard (here). When I put on the vest I feel so fierce that it lets my inner animal out and draws me towards animal prints. ROAR. I was so excited when I found these stir-up tights hidden in my draw (they will be the next thing I live in.)

Florals in Boston

Boston is the most wonderful place to sit outside, grab a coffee, and do some serious shopping. My shopping the other day took me to Diane von Furstenberg a newly opened store on Newbury Street. I found myself in love with each piece and made sure I went out with one of her famous wrap dresses.
